How to Make an Iced Matcha
A Smooth, Balanced Iced Matcha Latte
Making a delicious iced matcha starts with good-quality matcha and the right preparation. Follow these simple steps for a smooth, vibrant and creamy matcha latte.
What You’ll Need
- 2–3g Senny’s Matcha
- 30ml warm water (around 70–80°C)
- 100–150ml milk of your choice
- Ice
- Sweetener, optional
Step 1: Sift Your Matcha
Add 2–2.5g of matcha to a bowl or cup and sift it through a fine sieve. This helps break up any clumps and creates a smoother drink.
Step 2: Add Warm Water
Pour in around 30ml of warm water. Avoid boiling water, as excessive heat can affect the delicate flavour of the matcha.
Step 3: Whisk
Whisk the matcha using a bamboo chasen or electric frother until smooth and lightly foamy. Make sure there are no visible clumps.
Step 4: Prepare Your Glass
Fill a glass with ice and add your milk of choice. Add your preferred sweetener if desired.
Step 5: Pour & Enjoy
Slowly pour the whisked matcha over the milk and ice.
Give it a quick stir, and enjoy your smooth, refreshing iced matcha latte.
Our Tip
For a richer and more intense matcha flavour, use 3-4g per serving. For a lighter, more delicate latte, start with 2g and adjust to your preference.
Good matcha, properly prepared, should be smooth, balanced and naturally sweet, without harsh bitterness.
